While most stay-cations occur in your own home, sometimes you need a change of scenery for the night or weekend. If you need to leave your house, try spending your weekend at The Haven Treehouse. This treehouse is the Swiss Family Robinson of treehouses with wonderful modern luxuries like a hot tub, Keurig coffee maker, fire pit, and more.
In downtown Huntsville, there are several hotels that you could check into, but our favorite may be the 106 Jefferson Hotel due to its central location along with the hotel restaurant and rooftop bar.
Where to Dine
Huntsville is home to many fantastic restaurants that offer a wide range of cuisines. For a gourmet dinner, we suggest you visit Nick’s Ristorante or Char. Nick’s offers mouthwatering steak or succulent seafood options.
For those who dine at Char, you may find yourself stuff before you even get your entrée. The restaurant offers delicious appetizers like crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, and mussels. Be sure to end the meal on a sweet note with any of the decadent desserts such as the blueberry bread pudding or pecan butter crunch.
Activities to Try
Of course, there are many wonderful daytime and evening activities to take part in here in Huntsville. Visit the Botanical Garden or Museum of Art. Many restaurants, bars, and other locations like Lowe Mill and Stovehouse host talented musicians throughout the week. For those who love to dance, there are also fun and inclusive West Coast, East Coast, and Latin dance communities.
Late Evening Cocktails
When you want to unwind for the night but are not quite ready to say goodnight, you and your companions should grab a cocktail either at Sip or Stella’s. Sip provides a laidback atmosphere where you can sip on a premium cocktail. Stella’s offers a more colorful experience that is still casual. Enjoy a drink inside or on either rooftop.
