The Jones Valley area grew out of the famous Jones Farm. The Jones family recognized the value in planting grass on 2,500 acres of previous cotton fields to be used as grazing land for cattle. Since then, much of the area has been transformed into residential and retail space. However, Jones Farm is still in business today and remains one of the largest working urban farms in the U.S.
